Petecia Le Fawnhawk is a modern surrealist whose body of work is a meditation on the nature of form juxtaposed against minimal desert landscapes. Through this deep, slow intentional expression, she strips away the unnecessary in an attempt to reveal truths in the mysterious and magisterial.
Her work is ethereal, and optical illusions frequently pit digital fragments of her imagination against expansive desert scenes and collaged monumental sculptures. Le Fawnhawk’s articulation of her inner wilderness is imposed with symbolism of the unconsciousness; it isn’t always clear where the real ends and the imaginary begins in her transcendental realms, and she likes it that way.
