MK Balint

Lives and works in France

MK Balint grew up in dance halls and theaters along the Mediterranean coast. Following in the footsteps of her choreographer mother (a former solo dancer at the Zagreb Opera), Balint trained on the classical dance stage before studying the Decorative Arts in Strasbourg and at the Beaux-Arts in Paris. Bathed in the confluence of the performing arts, she weaves a unique approach to interdisciplinary creation processes.

Her work in experimental dance performances (including Dance-Calligraphy at the Festival d'Avignon) informs her singular vision in her oil paintings.

Art is a space which is sufficient in itself—it is the idea of the city, of its own origin and its own end. A transcendent reality, it is the paradox of a space open to the void as a place for all. It is this gap that drives an important dialogue.

If the challenge of all artistic expression is to adapt form to content, then what content is it about? Undoubtedly, of the internal structure of the movement, and thus of its musical structure, as principle of the pictorial event.

This conquest, to which I belong, is forged on the correspondence between the arts, conducive to metamorphosis and the regeneration of energy fields. Between common heritage and multi-sensory environment, I allow myself the privilege of meeting for a painting that is always on the way.
