Menhir

$3,000.00
Only 1 left in stock

Mareo Rodriguez
Menhir (2022)

Medium: Sculpture
Material: Resin and fiberglass
Size: 15.4 × 4.7 × 4.7 in (39 × 12 × 12 cm)

Strictly limited edition of 7

—

Mareo’s work explores the power of topography and material. Constant forces of attraction grapple with the machinations of natural territory. Energy condensed into matter as a living mantle, constantly moving, pushing and pulling against itself, the tension between inertia and entropy forcing fractures in mass.

Menhir represents a cross-section of the mantle's topography and is presented as a tapered standing sculpture, alluding to the eponymous monolithic standing stones.
